Originally, we did not offer breeding rights to anyone. As discussed in our story, the investment to bring these beautiful giants here to the USA was very high. It is hard not to fall in love at first sight with these sweet Giants, and most people who see them are immediately curious about having one of their own to love and enjoy. We want to make that possible.
On the other hand, we have had many approach us who want to breed them, after seeing us at an event or elsewhere showing our bunnies. Everyone has their reasons. Some for 4-H. Some for meat (please don’t). Etc. Etc. But mostly it has been because they see dollar signs and an opportunity to make some cash. Some have been honest outright. Others have been deceptive. Accordingly, our pet policies have had to evolve along the way to protect the bunnies and to protect our interests.
Had we sold a bunny to everyone who just wanted to make money, we would have sold many. And many of those bunnies would not be in a good situation now. Probably by now their kits would be all over Craigslist or other sites, selling for 50 bucks a bunny. And many of those bunnies would end up neglected, at the shelter, or maybe even dead. People don’t always value much what they didn’t pay much for.
After much thought, we realize that allowing no breeding rights to anyone, isn’t the only solution. For those who are seriously interested in purchasing one of our German Giants, and along with that also acquiring breeding rights, we are now open to releasing those rights to approved breeders.
Prices for our German Giants with breeding rights range from $1000- $1500. If you would like to purchase a currently available kits or adult, or if you would like to be placed on our wait list, please feel free to
